The development trust employ around 10 staff.

Ciara Van Vogt
CEO

Ciara grew up in Beadnell and was a student at Our Lady’s Convent, then the Duchess High School in Alnwick before graduating from Manchester University. She then spent 11 years working in a management role for Marks and Spencer before embarking on a career change into the voluntary and community sector in 2005.

Her work brought her back to the north east, where she covered such diverse roles as volunteering with asylum seekers, to tackling racism in schools, working closely with Sure Start in some of the region’s most deprived neighbourhoods as well as with officials from Brussels to highlight the challenges facing parents living in poverty across the north east.

Ciara joined the trust in January 2012.
