The coastal area of North Northumberland is highly scenic and relatively flat which makes it very attractive for cyclists.
For those that want nothing more than to take their family or friends on a relaxing bike ride, Northumberland coast and countryside offer many miles of safe country roads and car free tracks, allowing you to enjoy the stunning scenery from the comfort of your saddle.

Then there's the more strenuous long distance cycle routes of Northumberland. Part of National Cycle Network Route 1, the Coast and Castles Route runs along the Northumberland Coast between Tynemouth and Berwick upon Tweed, entering the County at Seaton Sluice. The route takes in many attractions en route, including the castles at Warkworth, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh, Druridge Bay Country Park, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Woodhorn Museum.
