The hub of our activities is our Resource Centre, which was bought in 2003. Here we provide facilities for all, but especially young people, the elderly and people with learning difficulties.
The centre has three offices, two meeting rooms and an ICT suite with adaptive hardware and software for people with learning difficulties. We employ a full-time co-ordinator to increase the range of services available and widen access to them.
Visitors to the centre have access to computers and internet access. Use of the computers is free although a charge of £1.50 per half an hour is made for connecting to the internet. Printing, photocopying, scanning and laminating are available at a small charge.
The majority of people using the centre are from Seahouses and surrounding villages and we help young people, adults with learning difficulties, local small businessmen and women, and the elderly. Visitors to the area can also access information and services.
Groups organising training and advice services include Northumberland College, Business Link, Citizens Advice Bureau, The Pottergate Centre, Alnwick, Seahouses Youth Project, Northumberland Credit Union and Northumberland County Council. Voluntary and community groups will access support and services, including the local Sports and Community Centre and Diocesan Hostel charities, Christmas Lights group, First Responder group.
The Development Trust has offices at the centre housing its Manager, Youth Project and Festival.
A summary of charges is available.
