Bar Person (Full/Part Time)

£8.00 – £8.50 an hour – Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Permanent

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

Ensure the smooth running of bar area, ensuring all areas of the bar are kept to the required standards of cleanliness. To deliver a high standard of service and customer satisfaction with an efficient service to guests, greet customers, provide a visible presence to ensure that all customer requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively. You will need to be a good team player and have excellent customer service skills.

MAIN DUTIES :

  • Adhere to all licensing regulations as specified by the licensing laws
  • Monitor and ensure stock is kept up to date via correct procedures and records
  • Ordering of all drinks
  • Operating the till and taking cash
  • Ensuring all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in accordance with company policy
  • Serving customers from behind the bar, offering advice on drinks
  • Preparing the bar for service, restocking wines and spirits
  • Responsible for keeping the bar clean and tidy, collecting empty plates & glasses
  • Ensure bar and seating area is cleaned after every shift
  • Mixing cocktails for customers
  • Providing a professional, friendly and courteous service to all customers
  • Taking food orders from customers
  • Delivering food and also drinks to customers at tables when required
  • Occasionally working at private parties
  • Dealing with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Comply with current opening and closing shift procedures
  • Ensure bar area secured at the end of bar licensing hours

Cellar/Garage

  • Change barrels as and when required
  • Cleaning of all equipment/lines when required
  • Thorough cleaning of cellar and stock area on a regular basis
  • Ensure stock rotation with each delivery

Restaurant/Hotel

  • Professional and courteous manner when dealing with guests for hotel and restaurant
  • Restaurant bookings to be clear, precise with all relevant information recorded
  • Hotel enquiries to be taken and completed on forms provided with all information recorded
  • Ensure knowledge of all prices and offers are related to all enquiries
  • Hotel guests are booked with correct procedure, shown to room and all information such as parking, opening times, restaurant availability, heating, check out and breakfast procedures are relayed
  • Completion of invoices for both accommodation and restaurant
